Last night (December 31, 2011) I finished, the first draft of my very first novel. I’ve written my entire life, and I have always had a few novel ideas running around in my head, but they never jumped out onto the page before. How did I get here you may ask? It was a combination of being pushed the right way at the right time and an amazing group people all lending me their support in words and actions.
While I was writing the first draft I found a huge amount of inspiration and tools that were important for my success. I wanted to organize those tools and ideas, and so was born the idea for this blog. As the days go on I will be adding sections about inspiration; writing resources and exercises; tips; and, the progress of my writing projects.
For this my official first blog post I wanted to thank the people that have been so supportive in helping me achieve my goals. I won’t get them all (sorry to anyone I miss right away, there are so many loving supportive people in my life I really have an embarrassment of riches) but these few stand out tonight.
Guy Windsor – Thanks for pushing me the right way at the right time. I haven’t even told you yet how important your words of advice were to me but I will soon.
Jennifer Landels – So many thanks for welcoming me into your writing group, introducing me to such a great group of people, sharing my excitement and bringing horses back into my life.
Andre Kostur – My loving husband. Thank you for believing in me even when I don’t and loving me without condition.
Joan Paton – Grandmother extraordinaire and the inspiration behind my first novel. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without you. Thanks can never be enough.
My Friends and Family – Each and every one of you have inspired me and supported me in every crazy thing I have tried. I hope that I can offer that to each of you in turn.
